So this summer, I’m determined to do something with my life! I took the summer off from school so I could work on my blog and get it situated, plus I have an entire month off from work this year. (Kinda sucks because I don’t get paid for it, but whatevs, I’m gonna put the time off to good use!)
Which is why I’ve created a Summer to do list!
(Note: Your free printable is located in my new VIP member section! Owwww! So if you’re not a VIP member yet, you can sign up right here! You’ll receive the password to the VIP Lounge in your welcome email. VIP members will also receive their free downloads in their weekly emails as well, so don’t forget to check your email!)
But anywho, back to my Summer to do list. Here’s 25 things I wanna do this summer!
1. Get my permit & start learning how to drive.
Since I was born and raised here in Brooklyn, I never really needed to learn how to drive. Honestly, I still don’t NEED to learn, but I do want to! So this is definitely something I need to do this summer! Anyone wanna teach me?
2. Have / attend a BBQ
It’s never really officially summer until your first BBQ, which hopefully I’ll be attending really, really soon, because I damn sure ain’t attending one today! LOL Sigh. If you live in NYC and you wanna invite me, that would be great! I like hotdogs and hamburgers, kay? LOL
3. Have a picnic
Is this only a spring time thing? I don’t think so! I actually really hate sitting outside for long periods of time, due to the fact that I absolutely freaking hate bugs, but for some unknown reason they seem to LOVE me! But I really wanna have a picnic in a park this summer! So let’s see what happens.
4. Ignore my fears and take kayaking lessons
The idea of going kayaking is both intriguing and scary all at the same time! I’m terrified of accidentally turning over the boat, or even falling in the water before I fully get into the damn thang. PLUS I can’t swim, so yeah … As much as I wanna do this, I don’t know yet. LOL (Someone come get me and take me. Someone that can swim! Preferably, 6’2, male, cute, football or basketball built … let me stop. LOL)
5. Take my daughter to see a ballet
She loves ballet, so I’m hoping this summer I’ll get to take her to see one. Then eventually I’m gonna have to get her some lessons, because I’m tired of seeing her leap all over the damn place. LOL
6. Go on a 7 day ice cream diet
Is this healthy? No. Do I care? NOPE! LOL If you’re health conscious, how did you even find my blog? Either way, this month is apparently National Ice Cream Month so to celebrate I’m gonna go on a 7 day ice cream diet, and visit different ice cream shops all around NYC!
7. Visit Hoboken, NJ
Why? Hell if I know. LOL I went there for an interview a few years ago and it was really, really pretty! PLUS it’s walking distance to a body of water. I kinda just wanna go, grab some ice cream and go sit near the Hudson River. So I think that’s exactly what we’ll do. (I also saw a ton of restaurants there too, so maybe, just maybe, I’ll pop into one.)
8. Visit LeHigh, PA
So yeah, I’m totally only going here to take my daughter to Dorney Park. LOL I heard there’s a really big mall not too far away, so hopefully us adults can go shopping as well!
9. Visit Governors Island
Because I’ve never went, that’s the only reason I wanna go. LOL I mean I’ve went to Staten Island, and Long Island, why not Governors Island, right?
10. Try mini golfing for the first time
I hate golf, well, actually let me rephrase, I hate watching golf on TV, however I think now that I’m older I’ve opened up to learning how to play. But first, mini golf!
11. Enjoy a day at the spa
Apparently there’s this ancient aire bath spa thang, I don’t know all the details, but I heard it was really cool, so let’s see if I can go!
12. Visit Black tap for milkshakes
Because these milkshakes look uh-mazing! That is all.
13. Visit Mango Mango Desserts for dessert
I absolutely LOVE mango anything, hair products, body spray, the fruit, so when my sister told me there was a dessert place with mango everything I was like uh YEAH! LOL
14. Visit 10 below
I actually found out about this via the news, and I’ve been wanting to go ever since. Now that it’s finally summer, I think it’s time!
15. Visit Max Brenner for s’mores
Because I’ve only been saying I’d take my sister to go make s’mores for the last couple of years. LOL Plus, I’ve never had a s’more in my entire life, so yeah this definitely needs to get done this year!
16. Make my own ice cream at the Magnum NYC store
My sister told me about this store and I have a feeling it’s gonna be pricey as hell, but I think the experience might just be worth it. (Well, I hope so!) LOL
17. Take the LIRR somewhere
Anywhere! I don’t really care, I just wanna ride it. LOL
18. Have a beach day
I don’t know why, but my daughter actually likes the beach. I won’t go in the water, but she can go get her feet wet. LOL (NYC beaches are dirty if you must know, so yeah, I try to avoid them at all costs.)
19. See fireworks for the first time
I know, I know, I’m late, but I’ve never actually sat outside and watched the fireworks. The first time I saw fireworks, I was inside my house looking out the window, so that doesn’t count. LOL
20. Take the tram to Roosevelt Island
Because it seems like a really cool way to travel. Although now I’m a little paranoid thinking about it.
21. Go see “The Secret Life of Pets” Movie
It comes out at the end of this week actually, so I can’t freaking wait to go!
22. Go on a date
I might go kayaking before this ish happens, but hey, a girl can dream right? Sigh! LOL
23. Visit “The Swings” exhibit
Before it closes this week! Apparently, you swing on these swings, and they each make a different instrument sound. Sounds freaking cool to me!
24. Make at least one new friend
Because I could totally use some more friends! Even if it’s just a “hang out buddy”.
25. Sleep in
Because in a few months my daughter starts Pre-K, I go back to school, plus I’ll be working and I’m gonna have to get up extra early every single day! So this summer, I need to stock up on sleep. LOL (Think the number of hours I sleep this summer can carry over to the fall and make up for the sleep I won’t be getting? Sigh!)
But there you have it! That’s my list!
So what do you want to do this summer? Leave a comment below and let me know! But first, become a VIP member so you can download this cute Summer To Do checklist I made for ya!
