So last week I attended a few events during Full Figured Fashion Week and Marla Wynne’s blogger event was my first event of the week.
Let me just say how this event set the tone for the rest of the week! It wasn’t overly crowded, like every event at New York Fashion Week so that was definitely a plus.
But from the moment I walked in, I was greeted and automatically offered a glass of champagne. (Which I gladly accepted, because I mean who turns down free champagne, even if it doesn’t taste that great? LOL)
Then Ms. Marla Wynne herself (pictured above) came right on over and introduced herself. It was like I had walked into a dinner party and the host was telling everyone to make themselves at home, even though you weren’t even supposed to be there. LOL
I mean, of course I belonged there, but I wasn’t as big as the other bloggers, so I guess I sorta felt like I wasn’t apart of the “in crowd”? Yet I was treated like I was! It was great.
Um, here’s two bloggers and an Ashley Stewart model. *squeals* I had no clue until the day after when I saw her online. LOL
Anywho, on entry, we were all told to place our business cards in the little basket, since that’s how they’d be picking the bloggers who would get to shop Marla Wynne’s collection. And crazy enough, every time they reached into the little basket, I secretly prayed I wouldn’t get picked because I didn’t wanna be in the spotlight, but I also prayed that I would get picked because I wanted to shop her collection! LOL
Yeah, it was weird. I’m gonna blame it on the champagne! LOL
However, my name was never called and I was pretty bummed. And then when Marla Wynne announced that there wasn’t going to be anymore drawings, my heart dropped! I was convinced that I had jinxed myself. Ugh!
So we all went back to hanging out, drinking champagne and having a good damn time.
But then she did something I never thought would happen! She opened up the rack to everyone! It was uh-mazing! And what was even more uh-mazing was how all these girls remained so damn calm after hearing the good news. I mean we were allowed to take what ever we wanted, but no one pushed or shoved! If another blogger grabbed something someone else wanted they just smiled and kept looking.
I mean maybe I’ve watched too many bridal shows, and New York has corrupted my mind, but to see women so calm in front of free clothes, was like finding water in a dessert and then telling the person behind you that they could go first, not knowing if they’d drink it all or not. LOL
And THIS, is how I found my new favorite fall sweater!
One of the girls I was talking to that night actually spotted the sweater first, so I told her it was cute but because she saw it first, it was hers. (I know, I’m nice right? LOL) I think she knew I wanted it, so she said she’d try it on and if it didn’t fit, I could have it. Well, it fit her, but she didn’t like the way it looked, so she insisted that I try it on. And then I fell in love. LOL
Look how cute this thang is!
Ignore the wrinkles! LOL This is definitely my new favorite sweater now and I can’t wait to officially wear it. I tried it on and it fits perfectly! And it’s so relaxing! I’m gonna be living in this thang! LOL Thanks Marla Wynne!
I also got these …
My mom kept tripping that I didn’t bring her anything, so I ended up giving her one of the shirts that I had. LOL Sigh! I swear she always wants something! But whatevs. (Now she says she needs a pants to go with it. LOL Ugh! Will someone give this lady some pants or something? LOL)
Oh and please bare with me, I’m clearly not a fashion blogger for a reason. So let me apologize now for my sucky photos. LOL But you can see everything clearly, right? (In other words, but did you die? LOL)
So yeah, I had a great time and I’m forever grateful for being able to take home a few pieces from the Marla Wynne Collection. Oh and trust me, this ish ain’t cheap! LOL Don’t believe me? You can shop her clothes online, just click this link. You’ll see how much this stuff retails for, so yeah, I’m happy!
But it’s not really about the price!
It’s, (1) the quality of everything, and how cute it is, and (2) her hospitality. I will never get over the fact that I felt right at home with everyone. Yeah, I was still a bit quiet due to my shy factor, (I’m working on it) but they didn’t leave me out! And when I tried to hide in a corner, or every time I stood around and played with my phone, someone came and said hi. For that I’m grateful!
And now I have a new, oh so very comfortable, and cute, fall sweater! Ha!
So what do you think?
