So this post may be a little late, but it’s still tax season y’all and if yo ass didn’t know that you must still be living …
You know the one we live right before turning into real adults? Yeah I don’t remember that life either.
(Note: This is not a sponsored post! All opinions expressed below are my own. Turbo Tax had no clue I was going to post this, but they will now, once I send it to them. LOL)
But like the good adult that I am, I completed my taxes a few weeks ago, and then I got my tax refund about two weeks later! Yup, it took about two weeks! I swear Turbo Tax is the shiznit! LOL
And that’s why I’m writing this post. Not just to brag about how I’ve been adulting like a badass this year, or the fact that I did my taxes by my muhfudging self. But to show you that you too can do this all on your own.
(FYI – If you haven’t already done them, you have until the 18th this year, for some unknown reason. LOL)
However, last year, I took my parents advice and filed my taxes with H&R Block.
Let’s just say, I’m glad I’m my own person now. LOL
When I filed with H&R Block, not only did I have to pay almost $300 in fees, but the person that filed my taxes seemed more confused than I was.
How sway you ask? I don’t even freaking know. He claimed he was still getting used to the new version of the program. (Bullshit if you ask me.) And after doing my own taxes this year, I know he was lying because all you have to do is fill the damn numbers in. So what the hell was he so confused about?
I don’t know but maybe he wouldn’t have been so damn confused if he had used Turbo Tax. I’m just saying. LOL It was really easy! I mean I’ve been hearing about Turbo Tax for years now, but I didn’t start filing my own taxes until a few years ago. And even then I was too scared to do it online or by myself.
I mean what the hell did I know about filing taxes? Nothing! How was I so sure that everything was secure? Or that I wouldn’t make a mistake? I wasn’t! But after one of my co workers mentioned to me that his girlfriend did his taxes for him this year and how easy it was, I decided I would give it a try.
Then when I saw that I would be paying less than $100 to file my taxes, I was all in.
There was no way in hell that H&R Block was going to charge me almost $300 for something that I could clearly (well hopefully) do my damn self.
See that’s the thing that a lot of people don’t realize, people charge you to do things that you can do by your damn self for way cheaper, but because we think we don’t have the time or talent, we just cough up the money and hand it right to them.
Well not I says the cat! LOL
Seriously, Turbo Tax was so damn easy, all you have to do is punch in the numbers from your W-2 form in the correct spot. I even paid a bit extra so Turbo Tax could break everything down for me and explain why I was getting back so much. (I’m naturally curious about such things. LOL)
It was really great being able to understand why I was getting back the amount I was and how they got those numbers. Which is something I was never told by my H&R Block preparer.
But then again he probably didn’t know either. LOL Whatever! I’m totally doing my taxes again next year and if you haven’t done yours yet, I suggest you try Turbo Tax! Do not pay someone else to do what you can do your damn self! Trust me, if I can do it and not screw it up, so can you. LOL
Oh and it literally takes about 30 mins to a hour, depending on how quick you are with reading and typing. LOL But don’t rush it! I don’t wanna hear how anyone used Turbo Tax and then screwed things up by putting the wrong number in the wrong place. You better take yo time and read each and every sentence properly! Don’t make me come get you. LOL
Did you used Turbo Tax this year? Hell, did you file your own taxes this year or did you let someone else do it for you? Why?
Talk to me!
