Did you even realize that September started yesterday? I’m just wondering, because I know it’s still nice out, but damn it, Fall is right around the freaking corner! (I’m pretty much freaking out, and I have no freaking clue why! LOL) But like, OMG, where the hell did this year go? Just a few weeks ago I was excited about having the Summer off, and boom, just like that it’s over! Sigh.
Oh well, no point in dwelling in the past right? That’s why I’ve already made my Fall to do list! So here’s 18 things I hope to do this Fall. (Some of these things have been carried over from like the last 5 years. LOL) Either way, here it is!
(Oh wait, just so you know, none of these photos were taken by moi, so I can’t take any credit for them!)
1. Go apple picking
If I don’t go apple picking this year, just, like, I don’t even know anymore. LOL Every damn year I say I wanna go apple picking and it never freaking happens. Sigh! Hopefully this year is different. Even if we only come home with like two apples. LOL I just wanna go for the experience. (Pray for me y’all. Lol)
2. See a local sports game
Even if you don’t like your home teams, it’s still cool to go out to a game and watch it live. I mean, I was never really into baseball (and I still won’t watch it on TV) but a few years ago my ex was a HUGE baseball fan, so of course I got dragged to a few games, and guess what? It was great! Just being around people that enjoyed the sport made it fun! So this year, I wanna try going to a few different sports games. Basketball, football, and especially hockey, because I heard those games can be crazy! LOL So let’s pray NY teams get it together this year and win the games I go too.
3. Visit a pumpkin patch
A few years ago, we took our kids from work to a festival and they had a cute pumpkin patch where the kids could just go in and pick out their own pumpkin and it was great. Ever since then I’ve been dying to take my little one so she could get her own. Even if we won’t be carving it, I’m sure my parents would love to eat it. LOL
4. See the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Rockets show thingy
LOL Yeah, that’s what I’m calling it this year. Sigh. Stop judging me okay? But whatevs, I wanna go see it this year, like fo’ real, fo’ real, this time. LOL This is another thing I say every year I’m gonna do that we never get to.
5. Take the kids to see Disney on Ice
Because they’re gonna freaking love you forever. Even if you can’t stand Disney, I’m pretty sure your kids love it! Suck it up and just go damn it! (Clearly I’m talking to myself right now, but that’s so besides the point right now. LOL)
6. Get your fitness routine in check
Trust me this one is personally for me. Ever since I went to 180 Soul Fit’s launch party (which you can read about here) I’ve been saying I’m gonna take her up on that dance class, and then the Summer came and I was like exercise? Who? What? Where? When? WHY? LOL But now that it’s not a thousand degrees outside anymore, and I’m no longer on “vacation” so I can’t keep hiding in my house, I think it’s time I finally got my life (and fitness routine) together. Which means I’m totally heading to one of 180 Soul Fit’s dance classes and I also need to try a spinning class.
7. Go on a cruise (probably to someplace warm)
Because even though we’re all raving about how bad we want the cooler weather, in a few weeks we’re all gonna be crying about how much we miss the sun and the sand. So why not just take a short cruise somewhere? That way we can have everything our oh so little hearts desire. *insert evil laugh here*
8. See a Cirque du Soleil show
I’ve been wanting to see one of these shows forever now, and there’s actually two opening up this month, TORUK and KURIOS, which both seem quite interesting! (TORUK is Avatar inspired, so it should definitely be dope and I can’t wait to go see it. I’ll also be checking out KURIOS, so I’ll be sure to let you guys know what I thought of both.)
9. Enjoy a staycation and pretend you’re not in NYC
Trust me, I plan on doing it myself this year because with my daughter starting school this year, me going back to school this fall, going back to work with even more crazy kids, PLUS this blog, I’m gonna need a day or two to recollect myself. But honestly, I just wanna run away from home for a day and enjoy a day alone. I miss waking up to utter silence like I used to when I lived on campus a few years ago. Sigh! But since I’m learning how to put myself first now, I’m spreading the message along. Which means you should also go on a mini staycation, even if it’s just for one night.
10. Visit Max Brenner for their s’mores fondue
(Something else I’ve been saying I’d do for years now. LOL) But I don’t think I need to convince you to go make s’mores right? Cool! Great! Moving on to the next. LOL
11. Attend the Vendy Awards
Okay, so I totally just learned about this one a few days ago and I think it’s pretty cool. Basically a bunch of food trucks line up, and everyone gets to taste their food, and then vote for who was the best! You can’t tell me that doesn’t sound fun! I mean, like seriously? It’s food! LOL
12. Attend a NYC ballet show
My daughter is currently in her “I wanna be a ballerina” stage, so it would be really cool to take her to see real ballerinas. (I honestly don’t know what your excuse would be other than they’re actually nice to watch live. LOL)
13. Attend the New York Comedy Festival
Now this one for me is a must! I didn’t even know about this until recently, so I’m totally gonna be checking it out soon. I was pretty much sold once I heard Trevor Noah was gonna be there. (Must be the cutest African ever. I mean comedian. LOL)
14. Go horseback riding
My daughter wants to ride a freaking horse, not me. (I was scared on the damn Camel. LOL She’s still making fun of me for it.) But this would be a cool activity to do in the Fall, especially since the leaves will be falling and it’ll be all pretty out.
15. North Fork Winery Tour
Because the word wine is in it and that’s literally the only excuse you need to go. LOL But this tour is about 9 hours long, so it’s kind of an all day thing. Which would be pretty cool for either an all day date, or a day out with the girls.
16. See a Broadway show
Because who doesn’t want to see a Broadway show? I’ve been dying to see The Lion King, but every time I look for tickets they’re all gone. Cry! This year, I’m ready! We’re going to see the freaking lion king, damn it! LOL
17. See an Opera
Just so you can check this one off of your NYC bucket list.
18. Visit Storm King Art Center
Because their sculptures seem uh-mazing!
And there you have it! That’s my Fall to-do list this year. What’s yours?
Talk to me!
